December 4: My Dachshunds

My dachshunds are very special; but somethings are their own, and other things are a breed trait....how is your doxie?
  • My dachshunds are very noisy
When Bubbles and Texas start to play.....either one is screaming or making loud sounds; Texas also thinks he has to "scream" at everything and everyone. Trips through a drive through aren't so pleasant anymore :D {We are working on that}
  • My dachshunds do not like to be without a Human
Today at work, I put both dogs in the play yard, too see if Texas would play with Bubbles instead of standing at the gate and "screaming" his lungs out. All that happened was they BOTH stood and whined. {We are working on this}
  • My dachshunds tend to play with each other, and occasionally other dogs
Texas mostly sleeps at work, and Bubbles just tolerates other dogs; but with Texas as soon as we brought him home, she wanted to play, and they've been playing ever since!
  • My dachshunds are VERY smart
He amazes me how fast he picks up things! Bubbles as well, though I wasn't into dog training when I got her, so she's just really stubborn about doing/ learning things.
  • My dachshunds LOVE food
Which is why Bubbles is the weight she is now. And they both will bend over backwards for a morsel of food.
  • My dachshunds looove car rides
Bubbles and Texas in the car
{Notice the E.B.D bag in the floor...lol}
  • My dachshunds LOVE to cuddle in my lap
And that is what Texas is currently doing as I type; Bubbles is really big and so its hard for her to fit all of her on there, but she tries her best :D

When are you with us; this is what you need expect. LOL!

Its funny to me how these two are such alike, my labs were as different as night and day, with some similarities.....(color, weight, toy likes,) but in others way very different. Midnight was calm and Rei was/is hyper; Midnight was content just to know I was in the building, Rei had to be with me at all times; Midnight started out not chewing and gradually worked her way up, Rei started out chewing and gradually slowed down. Midnight walked great on leash; Rei had to go through many collars and work before learning that skill. Midnight was eager to please, Rei could really careless what you thought. The list goes on and on.

Anyways, I finally found a store that sold the food I was looking for! YAY!!!!!!!!
So Texas will start getting Wellness mixed in his old food tomorrow! :-D

Also a big shout out to our friends Addie and Zoe!!!! We love our card and treats!
Texas went under the bed to eat his :D But we coaxed him out for his second one. :D
Texas loves the rawhide stick
{Yummy!}

My doxie is very noisy too, she does this throat bark that isn't a full bark but sort of a bark/whine that's really high pitched!

She hates being away from me or Max.

Rizzo plays with other dogs when she gets the oppurtunity and always plays with our cat.

She's smart but some commands are hard to teach her, especially the ones like "stay" and "wait" when I move away from her *sigh*

Rizzo loves her food, but we have filled her little food bowl and she monitors herself, she'll leave a full bowl and only eat little bits at a time for like three days!

She loves the car too!
